  • When I paint I listen to country, alternative, blues when I clean it’s rap or heavy metal, when I run it’s pop!
  • I made a 3 foot bird out of straw by weaving and sculpting it, it now hangs in a public library in Chicago
  • I don’t remember the last time I wore socks that match.  We put all of our socks in a hamper and I pull out two pairs of socks and put them on.
  • I somehow manage to get paint on everything. Just look at my clothes…  It always ends up on my face!
  • I can’t whistle.
  • I like experimenting with painting, I love going to home depot and finding different tools to use.
  • I make sure my dog Meko and I do at least one activity a day.
  • I love watching documentaries on netflix and reading biography’s. Favorite biography book: Things a little bird told me by Biz Stone,  Series right now Gangsters: America’s most Evil.
  • I’m obsessed with ancient Egypt and artifacts- I’m patiently waiting for them to find Nefertiti’s tomb… If you have no idea what I’m talking about please read this
  • My favorite subjects to paint are people or my dog.
  • While getting my masters, I had more sculpture pieces selected to go into galleries and competitions than my paintings.

Sara Brust is a multimedia and acrylic painter who works and lives in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from University of Wisconsin in 2004 with a BFA emphasizing in Graphic Design. She obtained her Masters in Education in 2011 at Chicago State University.  Sara has taught classes as an art teacher k-12 and has also taught through out the Cleveland area to adults.   Currently she is the artist, instructor and owner of Artists Uncork’d.
